I bought it to cover the tip and blade of my old Chatlet - Moser ice ax which I decided to give a 2nd life hanging next to my also veteran Rene Desmaison crampons and some old wooden skis and poles on a wall in the living room above the sofa, security before everything.

It seems to be of good quality but unfortunately it doesn't fit my Grivel Nepal SA Plus ice ax....

Comes very handy when transporting your gear in a luggage. Seems solid, fits well allthough the shovel end of my ice axe is quite wide - 60mm in the widest part. It took some effort to put the guard on. The material seems to be quite flexible, so hopefully it will stretch and fit better with time

This rubber ice axe tip and sharpness protector is a must when you cary your axe on your backpack. I've seen a stupid accident from carrying this sharp tool with exposed ice axe tip that ripped another person's jacket but sometime saying sorry was just not good enough.
