Perfect for a day hike or emergency shelter

I use this lightweight bothy as a shelter in sudden, unexpected rain showers on day hikes. It's about the size of a can of soup and weighs only 204 grams. It's also quick to deploy when needed, unlike a tarp. It's also better than a poncho when you don't necessarily need to be on the move (i.e., you're waiting out a cloudburst). Condensation is an issue, but you can lift an edge to let some fresh air in if it gets too stuffy. It's also a great emergency shelter especially if you exposed above tree line. Pair it with a pocket VBL like the WM Hotsac and you'll be ready for an emergency overnight in the backcountry without taking up much pack space.
